76Mb fibre only has downstream under 50k

$

Hi

I've used to have 38Mb fibre and could get speeds of 36-37Mb.

I've now upgraded 76Mb fibre but now I'm only getting a speed test result of 46Mb on the PC and I expected it to be higher.  The Downstream line rate on the router is 49,582.

I've gone through all the speed check help, e.g. powering down the router right through to removing the master socket but still only get a downstream speed of around 50,000.

Should I expect higher or is this the highest my exchange could give me?  I was advised the uprade would get me up to 70.7Mb

Thanks

Why my router HG633 is with firmware ver 1.15T?

Hi there,  I'm reading a lot of your posts and some of you have firmware versions much newer than mine.  Why is this?  I have the remote management on. Where are the changelogs of the firmwares? Are the new firmwares adding better performance to this router?

I hope the community can solve my doubt?

Fibre Large no speed increase

Good morning

I have recently (2 days ago- bear with me) upgraded from Fibre medium to fibre large and have seen no attempt at a speed increase whatsoever, I am wondering if there is something wrong with my line? I have traced myself back to the cabinet which is approximately 100m away and the cable is almost a straight run, apart from crossing the road. I have screenshotted some info which might be useful and attached it (i think)

thanks

HG633 ERROR_NO_CARRIER intermittent dop-outs

I got fibre a few months ago and had no problems until a few weeks ago.

I use Ethernet connection mostly + PC and internet 16hrs a day. Speed is 30+2mb/s.

In last few weeks, I get drop-out for a few minutes. This happens at random times (some whilst I am asleep at 7a.m.). Can happen 4-10 times a day but always reconnects within a few minutes.

I have logged call with TT support over last few weeks. Today I got cut off and they have not called back. They said they might send another router or engineer.

Would be nice if they could let me know what is happening!

v1.21t queries

Hello community / OCE's!

I'm curious about v1.21t:

Is it still in trial phase?

Will there be a full official rollout?

Does it cure the 15 minute disconnects?

I've got remote management off due to past experiences with v1.18t and v1.20t

v1.15t is good for me, it's been up for 36 days.

Can any OCE's or community members confirm it's stable? I like up to date firmware and the fact G.INP is supported is a bonus for me on a stable firmware.

Thanks if you can answer, with your help I might consider allowing it to download and apply to my HG633.

Thanks again!

Boosted Fibre still slow

After adding boost to my fibre it still seems to be capped to 37-ish Mb downstream. I've done many speedtests wired (Gigabit) and wireless (600Mbit). While upstream went up to nearly maximum that the cabinet can offer, downstream rate haven't changet at all. Below you can see that quality of the connection isn't that bad and technically I should be able get 60 Mb or thereabout. Can someone look at it for me?

Upstream line rate (kbit/s): 13182

Fibre Broadband Speed

Yesterday I had a long and frustrating conversation with a customer service agent who was trying to convince me that having paid for a super fibre boost to 76 mps, the speed I am getting of around 19 mps is good (it's actually no different than when I had a 38 mps connection). Could someone try to explain to me how if i pay an extra £5 per month for an increase in speed, they can say that the profile is in the router and getting 19 mps at my laptop is good? What am I actually paying for?

Slow upgraded 76mb speeds need help please

Yesterday i checked my router for maximums speeds i could get and it showed max 72269 down and 17589 up
so i decided to upgrade my 38meg bb to 76meg bb.

now this morning i have checked to see if this is active and it is but now it shows max down 66684mb max up 16912.
the download line rate has gone to 59832 and i am getting speed tests of down 54mb.

why has the max down gone from 72mb to 66mb and im only geting 54mb speedtest on wired connection

help would be apreciated as i thought upgrading when line showed max 72mb down i would at least be getting mid 60mb
my 38mb broadband i always got 37mb

Talktalk Super router alternative.,

Hi guys i've changed my router because of issues and iv'e changed it to linksys x6200. We currently have the "super router" provided by talktalk .. we are on fibre.. i have set this up and it all works well but last night i noticed it dissconnected twice and now trying today but seems fine. I'm just wondering if i have purshased the correct router and if its compatible with my fibre connection? I've read that adsl+ wont work you need a vdsl router but this router seems to be working fine i followed a tutorial on how to get it to connect which is below

There is no Username and Password for Fibre

I assume you would utilise the Wizard, but if TalkTalk is not listed, then manually, the connection mode is IPOE (might be listed as either dynamic or DHCP)

Need to set VLAN ID = 101

And this works all okay..

I just want to know if this router is compatible and will work okay? (even though its currentlyw orking)

Disconnected since upgrade

$

Hi,

i got got an email fromTT asking if I wanted to upgrade to a faster FTTC service. I said yes. I have had FTTC for a while now at 35 but thought removing the cap to go faster would be good.

Ever since i said said yes to the upgrade I have not had an internet connection.

i use an AVM Fritz box and have done so for many years, I have run the router diagnostics and rebooted many times. My router can see the exchange and get DSL sync no problem - just no IP service.

The router log tells me that there is a DHCP timeout issue. It looks like a problem at the TT end but I cannot get phone support to talk to me properly as I do not have a TT router.

Please can someone look at the service I have and do the correct fiddle to get it working again as the problem is not at my end.

Thanks,

James

Fibre speed disappointing

Hi,

I upgraded to fibre yesterday.  The router (HG635) shows a Downstream line rate=39998 kbit/s but any speedtests I do (no WiFi involved, using ethernet connection to router) consistently show around 8 Mbps.

Anything that can be done to improve this?

thanks,

Tim

Hi All

Our fibre went live yesterday, and since then no dial tone, have tried unplugging everything and just plugging phone into mastersocket, live chat tech person said there was no problem on the line.  Reluctant to buy a new phone, any suggestions?

- Please could you investigate the line.
