I changed over to fibre on the 12/2/18 and it stopped working on the 16th/2/18. Engineer came out on the 19/2/18 and said it's not connected to the cabinet and needs redirecting . Nobody has been out yet and I've had no contact regarding this issue . So am still without an internet connection . Any idea when engineer will be out to sort the problem please ?.
Hi Hope an OCE could help with this.
I have been sent a new router due to problems with my HG635.
A new dlink 3782 has been delivered but i am unable to use it as we have an autistic son who would stay on the internet all night if we didnt control his use via the parental times.
I can't use home safe as he has multiple devices that can access internet not just Pc.
Any help would be appreciated
Hi,
As per many in the forum I have an HG633 which seems to suddenly reboot itself.
I've had to WFH this week (due to 'Beast from the East'!) along with the kids. They have been using NowTV and Xbox as well as my VPN for work.
The router has restarted several times in the last few days and the logs don't give much info.
I am assuming it's the usual problem already reported here due to streaming and heavyish use.
Please can a tech organise the lagtest firmware to be sent to my device?
I've added to profile as per other threads so you can find me...
Product type: HG633
Hardware version: H.1.01
Software version: v1.21t
Hi i have a talktalk HG633 router which runs graand when it works with everything else i own.
My machins have Realtek PCIe GBE family controller, on board ethernet connections. These run fine with any other router or switch connected communicating well.
The prolem comes when i connect them to the talktalk HG633 router, sometimes it will take 10 minutes sometimes hours and occaionally will not connect at all. My machines state that the cable is not connected when those same connection work fine on all other routers and switches that get connected to the other end of the cables.
I have got the most upto date drivers installed for these controller.
I was wondering if anyone knew if theres an update for the router or a way to setup the 'magic packet' to open the connection and connect my machines to the router. As it stands it takes on average an hour to connect to the internet every time i switch my computers on.
Hi. After a very frustrating few days please could you try and support in fixing the above issue as it is happening about every 10 minutes and is becoming very frustrating.
I have spent numerous hours to the call centre in India and really wish they would listen. !
The issue is my router resets to red light every 5 to 10 minutes. I have switched off for an hour and been through hours of disconnect router / phone. Remove cover of phone line etc etc etc.
The router is a HG633 and is firmware V1.22.1t
Hardware H.1.01.
It is probable I need a replacement router but I have not been offered this. Also my speed is down from 40mb to around 9mb consistency.
Please Help.
Hi,
I have two issues with my Super Router (HG633, H.1.01, v1.22t):-
1) I am unable to connect to the router management console by wifi unless I reboot the router first.
2) TalkTalk TV box fails to work as it has no IP address. Rebooting Super Router fixes problem.
I look forward to your assistance.
Regards,
John
Hi.
When I first went over to fibre broadband I was getting speeds of 32mbps.
Now I get speed of 9Mbps if I am lucky, I have been on to TalkTalk several times in the last few months, they have done all sort of tests and they say that they cannot find anything wrong with my connection.
I am connected via Ethernet cable with the router by the side of the computer I have checked everything I can think of I am starting to think that perhaps I have been swapped back to non-fibre connection by mistake, Is that possible?
I have been a TalkTalk customer for many years but if this problem is not sorted soon I will look for another provider as I do not think that I am getting the service I am paying for.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Pedro
Ivery recently moved to 76 from 38 becuase an Offer I got turned out cheaper than the currewnt price i was paying for 38 ..
But so far nothing much has changed , speed tests still show under 38mb but then its only 1 day since the change over .
Just been on to Chat with Tt and after faffing about the operative went straight on down the "router problem " route... and when i said I don;t used the rubbish super router but anTP link AC1200 Archer VR400 , didn't have clue .
The TP link work faultlessly with a decent Wifi signal .
Before I get back to TT tomorrow , any things I could check just to cover as many bases as possible .. ta . .
Good morning all,
I don’t know where to start so I will begin with explaining the short story; 4 weeks ago I noticed that my WiFi devices, Laptops (Windows / MAC), Smart TV, iphones, iPads etc started dropping connection to the router all of a sudden. Nothing has changed in my property for the last 4 years technology wise.
Initially I put it down to ‘one of those things’ before it started happening on a more frequent basis. I contacted TT who in turn conducted tests on the line and they stated there was something wrong with the exchange. Brightsparks engineer booked who arrives two weeks later. Engineer takes away a White BT Openzone Fibre Modem which was initially installed 4 years ago and says that was the issue.
A few days later the same issue persists so another phone call to talk talk is made and they ‘alter’ a few settings on the router. Fast forward 24 hours and the issue is still persisting. A phone call to TT again and they decide to send out a new router (D-LINK 3782 Super Router). Plug it in and set it up, all is well until two days later when the connections to devices drop again.
Weve now been off and on with broadband for 4 weeks with no resolution and ultimately with the same issue that I reported 4 weeks ago.
I have split the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz connection so there is a distinct difference in which one I connect to. The issue is happening on both bandwidths.
Firmware on the router is v1.08t.
In the 5 years I have been with TT I have never had this issue and after the hassle I have had over the past 4 week something seriously now needs to be done about this as my contract is due to renew at the end of March and at the moment TT are giving me
no confidence to renew with them.
Look forward to any advice and support anyone can give, thanks in advance!
Hi Folks,
Existing customer was getting 55down 19up on fibre large. Saw latest offer from Talk talk for new deal. £25 a month for same service. Signed up.
since signup download as dropped to 37 and up 9. Rang support and frankly useless as always.
I have attached info from Router.
to be clear nothing has changed hardware wise.
As last time I had a problem Talk Talk need to turn something on or get openreach to fix.
Hi,
just wondering if I can upgrade to fibre broadband if I still have 2months left to run on my contract?
the new deal with fibre looks good, but when I look at offers and upgrades on my account, there is no option to upgrade to fibre only TalkTalk TV.
Upgraded to fast fibre and a new router was sent out. Whenever I activate the sky app on my PS4 the network crashes. Reboots. Then crashes again in a few mins. The rest of the apps on the PS4 work fine. It’s just the sky app that seems to cause the issue.
Need a fix please!
I'm having issues with my faster fibre broadband. Not only has it capped the link way lower than it used to sit with my previous ISP I'm starting to find that the service is just unreliable.
At the moment I'm trying to download from github and it is maxing out at 55 KiB/s. I'm seeing packet loss to github as well.
Ping statistics for 192.30.253.113: Packets: Sent = 340, Received = 322, Lost = 18 (5% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 92ms, Maximum = 106ms, Average = 96ms
I thought I'd give TalkTalk the benefit of the doubt so I tried something else, doing the same test for Google and it came back with the same issue
Ping statistics for 209.85.202.94: Packets: Sent = 73, Received = 68, Lost = 5 (6% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 25ms, Maximum = 31ms, Average = 27ms
I never had any problems with my fibre broadband with either of my two previous ISP's so I'm curious is anyone else having these kinds of issues?
Hi,
I used to live 1 mile from the exchange. I recently moved house, to 0.5 miles from the exchange. But my internet speed has halved! This is becuase my Fibre cabinet is closer to my old house, and now further away from my new house :-( Can TalkTalk move my VDSL2 to connect to a closer cabinet or directly to the exchange?
Jon

So basically everything was fine and out of the blue my router lights go on and off like crazy and every single light just switches off. Even the power button for the router flickers and resets my router and the lights come on and then all off again and it’s been a month. I bought a new router and still nothing. I’ve called talk talk. No help at all. Said nothing was wrong.
I live in London. I’m going nuts. Help?
I recently upgraded to super fast broadband, upto 76mbps.
I was on broadband package upto 38mbps and getting 38mbps.
When I complained after upgrading I was only getting 52-55 mbps TalkTalk told me this was an acceptable lower limit, I was not happy but appeared stuck with this.
However the last 5 speed checks over last 2 weeks show betwen 44-49 mbps, surely upgrading from 38 to 76 max which would double download speed by extra 38mbps means a mere extra 6mbps must fall well short of what's acceptable?
I have an engineer from TalkTalk booked for this Tuesday because of poor Wifi, even with new router, but what should I expect as a minimum speed when on super fast 76mb broadband package?
I have noticed no difference from 38 to 76 fibre, always had around 37 down and 8 up just the same speeds now, I have tried everything advised on this site, wonder if I could have a software upgrade pushed to my router which is hawei 635 and believe a new version is available v1.10t.
This is my first post and hope for a result soon.
Thanks
my fiber with boost speed is aprx 63mbps, surley it should be higher my friends is 115mbps can anyone tell me different
