Red Light - New Fibre Install

Hi all,

I have just moved house to a new property where a new line had to be installed, during the move I upgraded my package to Fibre Medium from ADSL so when the OpenReach engineer visited today to install the line he connected the services in the DSLAM to the fibre points.

After installing the engineer conducted a line test and confirmed speeds of around 40mbps however I can't get the Internet up and running I constantly have the light red, I am using my router from my old property it's the VDSL compliant device HG633.

I have a feeling it's down to an authentication misconfiguration at the exchange however TalkTalk aren't in any hurry to correct the issue. I've been without internet for weeks now and as a university student that's hugely frustrating especially in an area with poor phone signal.

I had an email earlier tonight confirming that my services were live (the go live date was the 11th but a local fault required fixing first so pushed our install date to today) but nothing.


Please could you advise me on this ASAP?
