HG633 super router - LAN not working with single device

To any IT genius…..

Recently I have moved from BT infinity to TalkTalk fibre medium. Generally all is good, speeds high and consistent. All except for 1 single device that will not stay connected. Never had this issue previously with BT Hub 5 but something appears to be wrong with this “super router” HG 633!

In summary,

Youview box via LAN – no issues

Laptop via LAN or wifi – no issues

Phones and tablets via wifi – no issues

Xbox via LAN – no issues

Medialink IPTV/Sat box via LAN – cannot connect!!!!!!!

I have tried everything and cannot get a solid connection, all I can achieve is an occasional burst of data. Ping test comes back with 1 out of 20 tries successful. I have changed over cables, changed port on back of router. Reset router and medialink box with no success.

I managed to find an old netgear cable router but could not connect directly as it only has an Ethernet port, I assume as no modem built in. I connected it up super-router and then Ethernet to my laptop and after clearing the netgear router received a connection. Then I plugged in the Ethernet cable from netgear router to medialink box and it works!!! Perfect connection, ping test 20 out of 20.

Can anyone tell me why my medialink box and super router cannot talk to each other?? Is there some simple setting I can switch?? Two routers sitting next to each other does look a little silly.
