I've just got my new 'super' router from TalkTalk, as I am upgrading to Fibre Medium on the 9th of Feb. I'm currently on basic broadband. My old router was the HG523a. The thing is, is that when my super router, the HG633, is turned on, my phone line has static and you can hear the internet on it, like a hissing sound too. Plus, I've noticed the speed is slightly slower than my older router. But with the old one, there was no phone noise at all, not like it is now. Any ideas as to why? I've played around with a few things, and even had just the router and phone connected, but still there's noise. Also tried newer microfilters, too. I thought that maybe it's to do with the fact I have yet to switch over to fibre. But surely that wouldn't make much difference? I have an engineer booked for next Thursday, too. I've just put my old 523a back in, and the phone noise is now gone. So it's basically when I put the new router in I have issues.
