Poor ping rates and frustrating customer services

Been round the houses on this one and I'm only in month 2 with talktalk.

 

Came across from sky fibre at the end of December where I was sync'd at 40 / 2 and getting ping rates around the mid 20 mark.

 

Having now moved to fibre large with talktalk (and paying the premium for it) I'm now getting about 43 / 7 with ping rates in mid 30s.

 

I've been on phone for hours trying to explain the point around paying for "premium product" but no difference keep getting told no matter what nothing can be done to improve ping rates. I'm into my online gaming so a 30-40% deterioation of ping rates is very notiocable indeed. I cant seem to be able to talk to anyone in talktalk who cares - it all seems to be about me being within expected d/l speed and that box is ticked!

 

I'd also asked to get my product downgraded as offered to me previously (why pay more for less) but to no avail.

 

I've also just invested in a VR900 router and whilst ping rates dont look to have improved much at least the wireless stability looks better..

 

Feeling exasperated and now trapped into a contract.

 

I could paste in output from network utility but I'm not sure it will do any good tbh.
