I am going to cancel my account.
In Feb this year the BT/Openreach estimate for my line was 40-50Mbps.
TalkTalk would only "guarantee" 21Mbps, although it was a fair bet it would be higher, based on the BT estimates.
Converting from Copper, went live, plugged in router & it trained at 21Mbps, spooky.
I get 21Mbps no more no less.
However - now BT will guarantee 32Mbps and estimate 36-54Mbps.
According to a TT fault engineer I can get 30Mbps on Talktalk - but only on FIBRE LARGE...?
Now that's just NOT RIGHT.
"Fibre Medium" is supposed to be "UP TO 38Mbps"
It's been along time since I was at school, but I think I'm right in saying that 30Mbps is less than 38Mbps, so I should be getting that if the line is capable.
Apparently not.
I think this is grounds for a complaint to Ofcom, but actually ALL I WANT IS WHAT THE LINE IS CAPABLE OF UP TO 38MBPS, which is what I'm paying for.
My 20 days cancellation period elapses in 24 hours time, so there's no time to debate this & I got the door slammed in my face after being on hold for an hour with "the loyalty team" this morning.
I'm not providing any details of my account here, as it's an open forum, but if there's a suitable reply in the next 24 hours, then I WILL keep talktalk.
I really want to, just give me a good excuse.
