Fibre Broadband (green light) Internet (red/amber light) on HG633 since upgrade

My line was upgraded from standard Broadband to Medium Fibre yesterday 21st October.   I received an email from TalkTalk saying that the upgrade had completed and my Fibre connection was not available at 4pm on 21st Oct.

However my router HG633 shows a green light for Broadband but a red light for Internet.  Further investigation shows that I have a good connection via VDSL - 1.5mb uplink and 40mb downlink but that i have now WAN IP, no Primary or Secondary DNS listed in the Internet Connection results on the router.

Three calls to TalkTalk support desk have resulted in a variety of responses, none of which have been very helpful:

1 - Told that my go live date was 22nd Oct not 21st Oct.  All communication I have from Talk Talk says 21st.

2 - Then told to switch off router for 30 minutes... tried this but had no effect.

3 - Then told that there was a general fault preventing internet access to all users in my area (Coventry/Warwick)... there was nothing on the TalkTalk service update web site about this so I doubt how genuine this "reason" was.

4 - Told that an engineer visit may be required, even though the router and connection were working fine, issue is not in my house.

5 - Told that my account was still configured for standard Broadband and not Fibre and that I need to wait at least 48 hours for someone to look into this.  Why can't this be changed over more quickly than 48 hours?

From reading other messages it seems to be an authentication issue but some users have been waiting weeks for solutions.  So I now regret moving away from my working slow connection to this broken fibre service.

Please can someone help get my broadband working again?
