I only joined Talktalk fairly recently after several years as a BT customer - Infinity 2 at about 76Mbps. With this connection, I could download at a consistant 74Mbps.
Talktalk offered the same 'up to' speed and claims to be 'totally unlimited'. If that is the case, why is my download speed now about 60Mbps with frequent drops to zero - all speeds measured by the ethernet monitoring function in Windows 8.1?
Seems there are three possibilities; (i) the service is NOT totally unlimited, (ii) the router ethernet ports are limiting the speed or (iii) there is a line fault which occured at the same time as I changed ISP - I did wonder why an Openreach engineer came and replaced my socket on changeover day! I am well past the period during which the line parameters are automatically adjusted to improve connection speed.
Anyway, just thought I would ask whether anyone else had experienced this problem and if so, whether a solution had been found.
