Just curious really. What actually happens when a customer switches from Fibre Medium to Large? I understand when switching from ADSL to Fibre that an Openreach engineer does work at the street cabinet but what about when going from 40/2 to 80/20, is there any physical work or is it just a command signal sent somewhere? And where is it sent, to the router, to the cabinet, to the exchange, to somewhere on the TT side? What or where is the actual control the governs the speed to hold it below the 'Maximum downstream rate'. (I don't mean the distance from the cabinet which acts naturally to depress the speed)
