Hi,
I had this issue for a few months now. have been too busy to get something done about it but now is the time I think.
every couple of days. All my devices in the home, whether it be ethernet or Wi-Fi lose the ability to connect to the internet. I believe it is to do with DNS.
If I reboot my router, it usually fixes the issue. however the last few times I have instead ran diagnostics to ascertain what could be causing the issue.
firstly, I run nslookup from my laptop and try to resolve several domains e.g. bbc.co.uk or google.com which failed. I then change the primary DNS server on my laptop to 8.8.8.8 and try the same thing which works fine.
I then change my DNs back to what it was, which is the TT Router and then log into the router to change the External DNS servers to google's and lo and behold DNS works fine.
Once I change the router back to dynamic external DNS servers (TT DNS servers), DNS resolve fails. I can either wait for five minutes or reboot the router to get DNS working again.
I have read on several posts that firmware 2816t might be the reason why this is happening or it might be a faulty hub, I'm not sure but can someone help in advising where I can go from here?
Many thanks,
