Hi,
Broadband SuperFibre Router - HG633. Not sure of firmware etc,
Currently at work so can't get any extra info until tonight.
For the last few days our router has started disconnecting every 15 minutes - the internet light turns red for a second or two, on the router homepage the connection timer resets every 15 minutes as well.
Now general browsing this hasn't been a problem, but when I play an online game, or stream some youtube I notice the problem, the game will disconnect every 15 minutes (most of the time) and go back to the log in screen, at first I throught it was just one particular game, but tried a few others over the weekend and it happens to them as well - so now I'm blaming TalkTalk and the router.
For me - I've not done anything to the router or settings - it just started happening end of last week and been going all weekend. I've lost count howmany times I died when I lost connection in the middle of a battle...
I know it has something to do with the WAN IP reseting - but keeping an eye on the IP address it doesn't changed - I've even tried turning the router off overnight and trying it the following day - same problem.
So does anyone know if this is the router at fault or TALK TALK ??? would buying a 3rd party router solve this?
I hate to phone talk talk support as they are not IT savvy and most of the time can't even speak english, I work in IT so I know what to check and what to turn off/on.
Thanks for any help, but we're at our wits end now as we mostly use the internet for gaming and it's no fun when it disconnects every 15 minutes (80% of the time)
Edit - Note - we're all wired in house - NO WIRELESS.
