Until recently my broadband has been fine, but in the last few weeks the internet connection has been dropping out intermitently - the red internet light goes off for about 2 seconds and then comes back on again. Sometimes it can go off 3 or 4 times an hour, sometimes just once an hour, but whenenver it happens my TV goes off for about 25 seconds.
I had an engineer come to check my line last week - he changed the socket and did a diagnostics check where I was able to see all the times where my internet connection dropped. He said to contact Talktalk again if I have the same problem as the line seems to be fine - there was no crackle on the line when using my phone. He said if it still happens it must be a problem with the equipment.
I have a HG633 router, and I have never changed any of the settings. My router is connected directly to the master socket, and there are never anymore than 3 or 4 devices connected to the internet at once. My DVD player abd TV box are connected with cables (to the router), the laptop I use is wireless.
Has anyone else had this same problem? I've read somewhere that firmware updates have been done and this has caused problems, but I didn't think these updates were done on my router, I thought they were only done on the older routers?
If someone could tell me what I need to do and can help me out, I would appreciate it. Oh, and I am on fibre braodband too, if that helps.
