HG633 disconnecting frequently

For about the last month, my router has been disconnecting every 10 minutes or so - I frequently see the red light on 'internet' on my router whilst it reconnects. This causes massive disruption to my talktalk TV service, and also to general internet use.

I have tried all the usual soft resets / hard resets of the router.

I am very reluctant to phone talktalk for help, as they often send me round in useless loops and noone ever gets to the bottom of the problem!

 

Is it possible to either a) downgrade my router firmware from 1.18t to something else (1.16?)

or b) send out a new router to determine if that fixes the problem.
