I do like a bit of new tech and when I heard about the HG633 I decided to take the plunge from the old openreach and TalkTalk Router set up to the new shiny HG633 fibre router......ouch.
I have had the HG633 some time now but but because its performance was so bad I switched back to the old set up. I have used it for the second time grudgingly today as the old router finally gave up and stopped working.
I am on Fibre medium and would get a steady 18 mbps with an upload of just over 1mbps on the old set up, not setting any records but steady and reliable.
So with the new set up HG633 with the old firmware V1.15t
I am getting 126ms-25ms ping (last 2 tests)
Download 14.84mbps
Upload 0.51mpbs
Test on PS4 would always (with old system) give results of 18mbps now says 9mbps
I have been on the phone to technical today trying to fix the dead router to no avail so sadly had to use the HG633.
Could you push through the firmware update for it please ?
Could you also check my fibre download and upload speeds please and push them up if possible as the router has been on and off all day so may have affected the speed and failing that any chance of a hammer ?......Image may be NSFW.
