When we signed up to talk talk, we were getting ~30Mbps. Over the past few weeks, maybe longer, the speed has dropped down to ~4Mbps.
I have phoned the tech help guide and they say there is no fault on our line. They then wanted to send an engineer out, but if he found no problem that would cost a ridiculous £65. I have checked with different wifi dongles, over the 2.4 and 5Ghz ranges and InSSIDer gives us a 100 link score but still no change on my speed test.
Is this really the best Talk-Talk can do? 4Mpbs down from the 40 we were sold?
Is there anything else I can do to sort his out as I have a terrible feeling that the engineer would find no prblems at our end and then we would be charged £65 and still have 4Mpbs - a double disgrace.
I am thinking of writing to the ombudsman to help get out of this awful contract as there seems to be no way of fixing it.
So I look to you, fair community, is there a way to fix this?!
