Hello again community/OCE's
I'm losing my WAN only and not the DSL sync nor System Uptime. Thank goodness for system logs.
I only noticed this recently as in about an hour or so ago, some things for example failed to load and were stuck etc.
I'm assuming it's due to the firmware, now the firmware was in fact fine for awhile but it seems to have developed the same symptoms as v1.18t did.
On v1.15t (No surprise) didn't do this. Would a rollback to v1.15t be a viable option?
It honestly looks like your firmware team has made a bad batch again.
Thanks!
WAN connection entry sample:
It's filled with these every 15 minutes. As previously said the dsl is fine so is the System uptime via the router page on the HG633.
Quick Edit:
I witnessed the internet light go red briefly (Say two seconds.) and come back on. Like v1.18t was notorious for. Exactly as it hit the 15 minute mark. I was timing it and like magic it went red.
Things I've done:
Factory restore via the router admin page.
Backed up and restored previous custom settings.
And rebooted the HG633 manually via the admin page (Maintain.)
That's three reboots/restarts in total. So I won't be touching it anymore until an OCE can help me out again, hopefully all this information can be helpful.
Another quick edit:
I get kicked out of online gaming sessions every 15 minutes due to this. (No surprise.)
My mum who works from home is complaining about getting disconnected from her work server briefly every 15 minutes and she too witnessed the internet light go red.
Looking through my System Logs it looks like it started happening earlier than I thought. Around 7PM the log states:
*DSL Connection Inactive* then a few seconds later *DSL Connection active* indicating we had a brief loss of sync. Stranger yet after the first 15 minutes passed the 15 minute on the dot WAN disconnections started happening and haven't stopped since.
It seems overall for me v1.15t is my best firmware to have as previously before requesting to be upgraded to v1.20t (Which I regret now.) I never had an issue or bother.
Hopefully this will be helpful to an OCE and perhaps downgrade me back to a more stable firmware before v1.18t
Thanks again!
Edit 3:
Apparently earlier I lost dsl sync with the message (ERROR_NO_CARRIER)
The problem with this? Well...This!
I have been able to keep a WAN connection now for longer than 15 minutes but that is a drop in the ocean now.
I lost my download and upload speed. It used to be 70/20 and now look at it. The interleave depth used to 1/1 and my channel type used to be Fast now it's interleaved.
Whatever has happened or been happening has had a big affect on my line/connection now. I'm now actually extremely unhappy, v1.20t is a nightmare!
My connection has been great since install on May 26th, the only issue I had was from the v1.18t fiasco and that didn't even do this!
It is a disaster...
DLM has never intervened until now. There is something wrong with this evidently.
Certainly an OCE is needed now. I want to be downgraded to v1.15t asap please!!
