I've had Talktalk Fibre Large for a while now but there seems to be a large discrepancy with the the wired and wireless speeds I recieve from the 'super' router ( the Huawei G633 as is standard with talktalk). Via wireless I can't recieve more than 50 or so Mbps downstream and 15-19 Mbps upstream (the latter bing good), be it through a 2.4ghz connection or 5ghz connection.
This having been tested in the same room as the router, being within 1 meter of it. I've tested it with 2 different laptops, 4-5 different phones (iPhones and Android phones), along with 2 different tablets. They've all recieved within the range of 40-52 Mbps, never any higher. I tested all the devices indiviually on both bands, with no other devices connected and nothing running in the background. I've even tried connecting my laptop to the router via an external wireless dongle with sizeable antennas, which made no difference.
I've tried changing wireless channels and re-testing also, but to to no avail, perhaps gaining only 1-2Mbps downstream. The strange thing is that when I connect my laptop via ethernet to the router and re-test, I recieve 70-76 mbps, so I figured that it must be an issue with the wireless router, so I rang talktalk technical support, and they agreed to send me a replacement router. I recieved the router a couple of days ago and it hasn't made a jot of difference, speed remains the same as before, via wireless and I still can only recieve the full bandwith of my connection via ethernet.
I purchased a good 3rd party wireless router with external antennas and good reviews (TP-LINK Archer VR900), with an inbuilt VDSL2 modem, figuring that perhaps that would solve my problem. I also updated its firmware. I connected to this, whilst in the same room with the same result. Downstream only 40-50 Mbps, and full 70-76Mvps via ethernet.
I checked my line speed using the BT which told me that my estimated line speed is 79Mb-80Mb and my minimum guaranteed speed is 74Mb. This is not surprising, as my fibre cabinet is literally outside my back door, adjoining to a wall of my house. This is my internet data that I gathered from my router, perhaps there is some issue here, I'm wondering? It does show that I can recieve the maximum speed from my line (which I do via ethernet, but not wirelesss, even whilst in the same room, within 1 meter)

I'm quickly reaching the end of my patience now. I don't understand why talktalk can't provide any meaningful technical support or help me solve this. Can somebody please help?
