Having just gone live (22 Nov 2016) with my 'up to' 38 Mbps fibre service it seems to have stabilised at 20 - 21Mbps. During a live chat yesterday with a TT representative to ascertain why I was not receiving a faster service, to at least be able to stream Netflix UHD programmes without problems, he suggested I had not been sent the latest router and that he could not support the installation of my preferred router. All I required was a checklist of figures to double check that my settings were optimum but he was adamant I had to install the new router that would be sent to me in the next few days, and that it would guarantee a faster speed than I was currently experiencing.
Don't know what all the mystery is about... the Huawei router will not be as powerful or well specified as the £170 Billion BiPac. The router TT sent me initially was the HG633 but I decided to set up using the Billion. It clearly works so what am I missing that the new TalkTalk router will be able to do that the Billion cannot? Suggestions please.
Will report back when I receive the new router.
