Fibre speeds have slowed to a crawl

Hello all,

I was hoping you could help with an issue that has been bothering me for almost a month now.

I'm currently paying for 40Mbps and usually see around 30Mbps or so which is fine. This past month the speed has dropped completely and in any speed test I do I'm unable to see over 9Mbps at all. But the majority of the time speeds slow to an absolute crawl with DL speed around 1 or 3Mbps.

I'm trying to do a speed test right now to post here and I can't even get it to complete. That's how slow it is. For general browsing it is just about ok but pages do hang and any heavy content just takes ages to load. Any time I try to download a file from any server that means that I can't access anything else as the connection just becomes to slow. The download speeds on files are ridiculous as well jumping between 5 minutes for a 100mb file to 2 hours or 5 hours then back to 5 or 20 minutes.

Youtube works ok but even then streaming HD video will cause the whole connection to slow down meaning I have to close the youtube video If I want to do anything else on the web.

I've tried on multiple PC's in the house and its the same issue.

Would you all be able to suggest what steps need to be taken in order to fix this issue.

Regards,

EDIT: Been able to do a speed test. Was <1.0Mbps about five minutes ago. Now is 3.5Mbps
