How dumb can they get

Called yesterday to the technical department in Phillpines about wi-fi drops on my router, as evidenced by constant bleeps from my handset telling wifi off & also reconnections when available. After going thru the usual rigmarole of security checks (three times) , the lady asked the compulsory troubleshooting about which lights are on and blinking and all that jazz. I clearly specified the issue as wi-fi from the router stopping periodically past few days which I access mainly from my phone and tablet which also notifies me when not available. Kept me on hold for 10 minutes and came back with a suggestion of line test to see if there was something wrong in the line outside my house ! What the !! I again clearly mentioned that it was the Wifi from my router that was playing up, yet insisted line test as mandatory (in the script). Never once was she inclined to ask which router, which firmware etc. SO again went to speak to the "Manager", came back after 25 minutes on hold, only to inform that she will have to call me back after checking "other options" or put me on hold till she checks out these options. Needless to say, I was losing patience and was cut off without her ever coming back ! Do these technical staff have a clue as to what is being discussed and reported ? Pathetic is a mild word, I'd say. By the way, paragraphs and psacing not working whilst posting this. Another issue for the forum desginers to fix, if they are reading and listening !
