Dropping internet speed last week resulted in an engineer call at the weekend.
He confirmed 40mbps arriving to house, but router kept dropping during my wireless speed tests as low as 1 wirelessly and up to 29 when he used his own test router on wired connection.
He advised I request a dlink 3782, as replacing like for like equipment likely to have the same output. This I did in follow up call from complaints on Sunday.
They advised they would send best available replacement which arrived this morning and it's the same hg633. Download speed today so far as follows
old router 24.29mbps
new ne has registered 27.02. 14.89. And 20.88 Mbps I understand I will need to monitor the new equipment over the next few days and note the speeds achieved.
Is the dlink3782 a better router? And if so, why have I been given the same again despite the engineers advice. I suspect cost is something to do with this, but at the start of a new contract I want or ensure I receive the best speed available.
