I recently upgraded from fibre 40 to 80. I had a couple of BT system faults that have now been resolved.
I have a number of devices that are connected via wifi but one of them is really struggling. It is a basic windows 8 laptop. It was fine when using 40Mb fibre, but really struggles to load web pages. Other devices seem to be OK.
As part of the original fault process I was sent a new HG633 Router, which is running v1.21t software.
Is wifi configuration changed in any way when increasing your fibre speed? I am trying to work out why my laptop, which worked fine on the 40Mb service, is now almost unusable on the faster service.
I have my main laptop and the problem machine parked within a few feet of the router and the problem machine is not improved. I have a cordless phone nearby, which I switched off and unplugged to see if this was interfearing and there was no improvement.
The wife error rate seems really is really high (see below).
I have run a wifi analyser and changed the channel to 11 (as I dont think this is an overlapping channel).
I have no new equipment in my home that would interfear with the packets.....
Any ideas what I can try? The problem laptop is using a Broadcom 802.11n adapter. I dont have an ethernet connection on this machine, but I am getting near perfect performance via ethernet on my main machine.
