I am using a ASUS DSL-AC68U router on fibre and I am getting intermittent problems with internet connectivity due to the IP lease time being set at 15 minutes.
Most recently my DSL link has been acive for around 2.5 days and during that time I have had 4 IP addresses issued by talktalk. I am assuming the problem is that occasionally when my router tries to renew the lease it fails and has to go through the process of obtaining a new IP address. During this time I loose internet connection.
If the lease time was set at 1 day instead of 15 minutes the chances of the lease not being able to renew would obviously go down by nearly 100 fold and I would get far less interruptions to my internet connection.
I have no desire to go back to the talktalk router.
I have seen this issue on a number of posts, but not seen any resolution. Can anyone provide any advice, is there a fix at talktalk's end to grant a longer lease time.
Thanks in advance for any help.
