I have been a loyal TalkTalk user since the very beginning but I am now reaching a point where I am thinking seriously about going to BT. These are the facts
- My Simply BroadBand speed has been in the past about 4 but is now down to 1.4 which is completely unacceptable. The advertising for this service says “up to 17mb”
- This figure is obtained from Speedtest.net because the TalkTalk speed checker won’t even work and says “Sorry we can’t run a speed test from your location”
- Several attempts at calling for help have proved fruitless and frustrating. The people at the other end don’t seem to understand when I say NOTHING has been changed, reinstalled or tampered with in any way therefore there is no point in pursuing such matters as line connections, set up parameters etc. The slow -down has taken place entirely of its own accord.
- During my last conversation with TalkTalk I was persuaded to upgrade to Fibre and offered a “special Deal” as a loyal customer. I agreed to this but since I have studied the details I don’t think it is a very good deal at all. In fact I am being offered little more than any new customer.
- I feel that I should not be pressured into accepting the more expensive option of Fibre when my present connection used to be quite satisfactory
- I am very tempted to cancel this new order under the 20 day cooling off period Today I have tried in vain to make contact with someone at TalkTalk with the necessary knowledge and authority to discuss my situation. Even the chat lines are unavailable. What can I do ?
