Hi,
We are existing talktalk broadband customers and have upgraded to fibre to go live 30/12! We obviously want the fastest speed possible but our current attenuation seems high. I confess that I know little about these readings, so if I am wrong then please let me know!
These are the readings from our router: (currenlty non talktalk router as we were advised by talktalk live chat best not to connect the new one until fibre live date, not entirely sure why?)
Downstream Upstream
Data Rate(Kbps) 13827 1020
Noise Margin 8.6 10.9
Output power 0.0 12.1
Attenuation 35.5 3.4
Giving that we live less than 1km (as the crow flys) from our telephone exchange our attenuation seems high? Would our line be completely re-tested anyway once we go live, in which case we shouldn't worry at this point?
Would really appreciate any suggestions/help.
Thanks!
