Hi
I've had TalkTalk fibre now for just over two years and am generally very pleased with speed and reliability so much so that I also have TT TV too with a view to cancelling Sky in the New Year.
However, whilst cabled connections have always been reliable the Wi-fi has always been less so but has been driving me mad since Christmas when we added an Amazon Fire Stick and new tablet neither of which will work reliably to stream video and I'm having to repeatedly reboot the router to get these and our other devices to reconnect.
All of the devices (phones, laptop, tablet) can 'find' the router SSID and get a strong signal but apparently disconnect randomly and then won't reconnect again and repeatedly fail to acquire an IP address. I've tried moving the router temporarily into an open space and tweaking the settings by forcing specific channels rather than 'auto' and trying 11n at 20 MHZ with short guard interval (as per other posts) and just using 11n mode but none of this has so far made any difference.
I'm wondering if there are any other settings worthwhile changing or any other suggestions to help improve stability of the Wi-fi as I'm getting a bit desperate now?
Kind regards, Paul.
