moved home now the Internet light is always red

I have just moved house and got my broadband and phone number transfered the engineer was here yesterday and got the phone up and running I received a email later that night saying my fibre was online it worked for about 5 mins then the Internet light went red again and has been for the last 24 hours I phoned talktalk they said it's showing as connected from there side but they would reset it and to turn my router off for 30 mins and it will work but no joy any help would be great as I don't fancy waiting until Friday for someone to come out
