Disconnects

Recently I have been getting disconnected and having to reset the router to reconnect.  It has happened three times this month and it always seems to happen from midnight till two in the morning.  First two two times turning off the router for 30 minutes worked;  second time I lowered and set the MTU back to default and it worked.

 

Also I have been seeing the following in the logs

"possible SYN flooding on port 37215. Sending cookies"

 

Could it be a DOS?  I read somewhere on here that my router would be inaccessible if it was,  and I've been able to access the router during outages.  If not, what does that mean?
