Hello, hopefully someone can offer me some advice.
I moved into new place on 23rd of Jan, put in home move beforehand and got an expected fibre live date of 29th of Jan. The 29th came and went with no fibre connection going live.
Called up after a couple of days, woman fobbed me off and said it should be connected in a couple of days, but didn't actually check everything was OK with the order, which the next person I spoke to confirmed. The next person apologised a lot and escalated it to the "home mover" team.
Got a call off some guy called 'shiva deep' (cool name) who told me that openreach had not connected the line in the local exchange in breech of their contract with talk talk... Yadda yadda. He said he'd be monitoring the situation closely etc and call back in a couple of days.
Missed his call today where he said on the answering machine that he'd call back next Monday. Earlier today, before his call, I received an email saying your fibre is now live. My fibre isn't live, I still get the message "Your broadband is not live. Please contact your Isp for an activation date".
So I want to know who I can get in touch with to find out what is really going on. I'm tired of speaking to people who have no idea what's going on but just fob me off and ask me to keep waiting (there have been many more instances of contact than I have listed here, I've just tried to keep it pertinent).
I understand that things happen which can cause delays, but I need to know when my fibre is actually going to go live so I can put a cost effective plan for Internet access in place for the meantime. I've now spent 50 quid topping up my mobile Internet, I could have gotten a wireless dangle with more bandwidth instead for less. I suspect talktalk won't be offering me anything in way of compensation for failing to get to grips with what the issue is and giving me a realistic time frame, so I need to find out how to escalate my issue to someone who can actually resolve the issue.
Any help or advice is gratefully received.
Stacy
