Sloooowwwwww connection since Wednesday morning

Ahh, I've not been on here since the glory days of "The Agent Remote ID presented by the DSLAM is incorrect"

Remember that month? Good times

 

Anyway after my fibre finally going live I've had no complaints. It's been brilliantly fast, couldnt be happier

 

Then two days ago it ground to a halt. Router shows as connected to the internet. If you hit refresh a few times pages will eventually load but usually only the top half and with no images. Getting me all nostalgic to the days when I had dial-up and jeans about 5 sizes smaller. Internet unusable. Things like Steam just refuse to connect.

 

Internal is all fine as I streamed media to the chromecast as a test.

 

Checked online and saw that powering the router off for 10 mins could resolve it but it didnt.

 

Reported it yesterday morning from work hoping to get the line checked or something. Thought it might be due to the crappy weather we've been having. Was told I'd be rung 6-8 when I was home.

 

8:30 I eventually rang them. They pulled up my "ticket" which apparently had me down as having a problem with the telephone not the internet so nothing had been done.

Was then on the phone for 40 minutes while the operator got me to wander round the house with my ipad running speed tests all of which came back at something like 0.04 or "slow as ****  "  After each one I got a "Now go to a different room and try it again". Almost like she was killing time

 

Had my pc linked into the router but she didnt want to check any settings or... well anything really. Told her I had two solif green lights and two constantly flashing ones... she didnt seem interested. Ended with her telling me an engineer would be round in two and a half weeks and that if I was out or it turned out to be my fault at all I'd be billed.

 

Based on my previous experience I thought I'd post something here and will also be trying the twitter as the phone people are just terrible. Again it's a shame as the actual product, when it works, is so good

 

When I went to fibre it took a full month from my go-live date to actually be connected. Hoping this doesnt drag on as long
