Hello all,
I've recently joined TalkTalk and my Broadband connection was activated on 30th March. After a day when virtually nothing could connect via WiFi, the connection seemed to settle and most devices started connecting.
I live in a 3 floor property with the router plugged into the master socket on the ground floor. I purchased a couple of powerline adapters to connect to my YouView box as the master socket is not in my front room (which is also on the ground floor).
The strange connection problem is this.
I can connect via Wifi to a couple of Xbox Ones on the top floor and mobile phones will connect pretty much anywhere. However my PC which is on the middle floor won't connect at all. It finds the router (occasionally) and despite putting the correct key in, it just says cannot connect. I also have a laptop which I use in my front room (ground floor), and although it connects, the connection keeps dropping. The connection normally stays for about 5 minutes, before dropping for about a minute and then reconnects again.
I don't understand why the games consoles which are furthest away connect with no problem but the PC which is nearer won't connect and my laptop (which is about 6-8 feet away), keeps dropping connection.
Previously, I had my broadband supply from another company and didn't have any of these issues.
I'm hoping someone may have an idea of why this is happening. All (apart from the TV) are currently wireless connections.
