Internet Keeps Dropping Out

I've been searching the community pages and came across many instances of Internet drops for variious users.  Looks like I am also joining the group now.

 

Since last Tuesday (29/03), my internet has also started dropping out.  I never had any problems with Internet until now (apart from once or twice which was quickly sorted out).  I wonder why am I facing this sudden outages with my internet since last week.

 

Each time  the internet goes out (red light on the modem), I just need to unplug everything and then wait for 30 mins(as suggested by the customercare) and connect back ..and everything seems to be working fine after that.  But the annoying thing is that I need to repeat this procedure every couple of days and that is causing a lot of inconvenience as I do a lot of working from home. 

 

I've seen in some posts that the issue could be due to faulty hardware (mine is almost 5 years old now)..How can I determine where the issue is and what to replace?
