Hi,
I have Fibre Medium with a HG635 router. My service has been stable for around 5 months, however I am now increasingly having to reset my router as my download speed is now regularly dropping to levels which are unusable. I am also getting ping results which are in the high 100's or 1000's. When I have one of these slow downs, I am unable to complete a speedtest since they just error out. My connection is wired, and so it is not a wifi issue.
Once I perform a reset, the speeds return to normal, at around 14mbps.
Today, rather than reset the router, I called talktalk and asked for a line check. Although the test came back saying there was no issue with the line, the speed of my connection returned to normal while the test was being carried out, only to drop again around an hour later. This is the first time this has happened without performing a reset. To me, this suggests to me that the fault is with the line, and not with my router, dispite the test result
I am pretty sure the test today was looking at the phone line, not fibre connection. Therefore could somebody from TalkTalk carry out another check please?
Thanks,
Rob.
