Over the weekend I received a call from an Indian man (sounded long distance) purporting to be from Talk Talk. He was ringing 'because we've noticed abnormal traffic from your router'. This instantly aroused my suspicions but piqued my curiosity. So I played along...the agent wanted to know which kind of computer I have and tried to find this out gradually by asking the keys to the right of the control key in the far left of the keyboard. I use a Mac - of no interest to him. He then asked if there were any Windows computers connected to my home network. This ran major alarm bells for me. I denied there were (I occasionally use a Win 7 and a Win 10 laptops on my home network). He was clearly working from a script. When i tried to force him to explain the technical error he hung up. Suspicious!
TT: was this a legitimate call? Please let me know.
