Fibre Upgrade

I am currently on the 38Mb fibre package ( I think nearly 1 year into my conract). I logged into 'My Account' this evening, and noticed the 'Upgrade your fibre speed' link, which said that I can upgrade to the 76Mb fibre for only £5 extra per month, which I went ahead with.

 

I then get an email saying that my contract is now 18 months again. Not in one place did it say that my contract would be extended during the upgrade! I would not have bothered if it had.

 

Even the online help just says "I am already on up to 38 Mb, when can I upgrade to 76 Mb? Customers who have up to 38Mb, can upgrade to up to 76Mb by logging into My Account and click on the 'Upgrade to Fibre' link on the left hand navigation bar. This will take you through our fast and simple upgrade journey. The switch will happen within 2 working days."

 

If my contract is to be extended, please could an OCE cancel this upgrade, however if it is an upgrade within my current contract length like a boost, then please go ahead.
