Upgrade from Medium to large Fibre to cure upload throttling problem?

Hi

We have the Essentials TV, Broadband & Phone with Medium Superpowered Fibre, using a new Super router.

We have a network of 3 computers running Windows 10 on a wired connection (not WIFI) and we each do a lot of uploading of small files (4 to 8 KB’s) during the day but when one of us uploads a file it seems to throttle the other 2 computers internet. With all 3 computers running we mainly get speeds of 28 Mbps (download) and 1.90 Mbps (upload) which seems a good speed to me.

I have done a BT Broadband test on our line and the results were that we could get 65 to 80 Mb speed and they guarantee a minimum speed of 57 Mb on their superfast BT Infinity Fibre package.

I have read about the reasons for this on the forums and understand why it happens. The recommendations seem to be to upgrade to the Talktalk Large Fibre package as it seems to double the upload speed but I have not been able to test our line to see if it can handle this speed. I don’t want to upgrade and pay extra if it does not solve the problem or we do not get any actual increase. Also, I cannot find on the TT website how much extra it would cost us.

I would appreciate your views on this.

Thanks

Kevin
