Hi go live day was today, and service is live.
Prevously getting 2.85 mb on regular broadband.
engineer installed the fiber, and set up the router,
Router only gives 3.10mb, and when testing on on the master socket still shows when plugged in directly as 3.10 mb
he said this is not fast enough, and nowhere near the expected increase for fibre.
The tel lines are undergound runniung through fields and connect to the neaest cabinet ( 3) in crosshands at 2.8 miles away.
therefore we are loosing 37mb between the property and the cabinet.
Engineer advised there are no faults on the line, its just that the lines are old ( installed over 20 years ago) and it simply cant cope with the quicker speed due to its quality ( or lack of it)
So before I cancel talktalk totally ( including line rental etc) any suggestio ns as its simply not acceptable.
