Hi,
We joined TalkTalk in the last few months but have been having issues with our fibre speeds ranging from less than 1 mbps to 37 mbps on wired and wireless connections. We have also experienced issues where we are unable to connect at all.
We have had fibre for many years previously with Sky and BT and haven't had speed issues before. Just to add we have performed our own speed tests over 24 hour periods and speeds 'tend' to drop very low in mornings and evenings (1/2/3 mbps) although can occur at anytime of the day including overnight. I have also submitted results to supportal-test.co.uk.
I have spoken to TalkTalk on numerous occasions and have followed all of their requests of fault finding over the phone, they can't find an issue when testing the line. An engineer sent from TalkTalk came out and found a loop fault which was fixed but this has made no difference to our original issue.
We have also tried an new TalkTalk router and cables, but still speeds are fluctuating, which at times affects even browsing the internet. A BT Openreach engineer is coming out next week.
Can anyone advise or help at all, as we are really at a loss as to what the problem is and unsure of the outcome of the engineer visit. To clarify, I am not hung up on the speed as such but when the service becomes unusable then it is a problem. Thanks.
