Microsoft Exchange - inconsistent connection

Hi there,

I saw another post on this topic, but it never got resolved.

  • I use Outlook for connecting to work email, via MS Exchange. Often, Outlook freezes, will not receive nor send emails, unless I close it and reopen it, whereupon it does a send/receive cycle fine - but then goes into pause mode once again.
  • It seems as though it cannot consistently get through to work's MS Exchange, though sometimes it does.
  • I am on fastest fiber, decent up/download/ping speeds
  • If I am in the office, or travelling abroad, everything works fine.
  • I do not need to use VPN.

My work IT folks are at a loss, and the problem has also been excalated to MS with, as yet, no answer. 

I believe it has something to do with TalkTalk, or the router, becuase all was ok with Plusnet who I was with previously.

I am willing to invest in a different router if that might be the cause, but I'd rather not do that if it's something else.

 

Any ideas on how to solve this are very welcome.
