Broadband Sync Speed

Hi,

I recently ordered fibre broadband when it became available for my cabinet, which was fine, except I ordered fibre medium, instead of the fibre large package. When I realised my mistake, I phoned up to get the package switched. Unfortunately, this meant either cancelling the order, or phoning back up after the order went live to change the package. I chose the latter.

The fibre broadband became live on Monday, and as per the instructions when I phoned prior to my live date to switch packages, I duly rang yourselves and got the package switched. Last night, the modem line was changed to reflect this change, and is now showing a line sync rate of 59Mbp/s, whereas previously it was showing the line sync rate maxxed out at 39Mbp/s. However, it seems that I'm still capped at the lower speeds, as I cannot get any speed tester to go past the previous speeds when I was on fibre medium.

Is there something that still needs to be done at the TalkTalk side of things to allow me to use all of my bandwidth? At the moment, I'm now paying for a higher package, and all that's giving me is a nice set of statistics saying I'm syncing to the exchange at a higher rate.

Output from the router stats screen shows the following:

For information, speed tests have been run with the laptop plugged straight into the router via an ethernet cable. Every other device was disconnected. Wireless was disabled for the purposes of this test to take out any issues with anyone stating that I may have been seeing lower speeds due to interference, other devices, etc. Yet, I'm still getting consistent results from various speed testing sites in that downloads cap out at just under 40Mb/s.

Thanks in advance.
