Last Sunday my router suddenly stopped working properly and I kept getting disconnected from the internet every few minutes. I contacted TalkTalk and requested a new router. After A LOT of lies about despatch dates and non-existant tracking numbers from customer services I finally recieved the router today.
The new router is now installed and the disconnects have stopped, this leads me to believe the problem is the same that a lot of others on the forum have already mentioned, something to do with a new firmware upgrade (1.20t on router that stopped working and 1.15 on the new router).
However my speeds have not recovered and I am connected at way lower than I should be and am paying for. See below.

I am already using the test socket and have been since I connected to TalkTalk originally. I've also replaced the microfilter and nothing else is plugged in.
I have been advised by customer services that they need to send an engineer out but I can't understand how it's suddenly a physical fault when it was fine before the new firmware. I don't want to have to pay for an engineer if nothing is found to be honest.
