Hello,
Quick rundown of my problem. I am a Fibre Unlimited customer.
On several devices (laptops and mobiles) I lose internet connectivity for around 90 seconds - 2 minutes. During the loss of connectivity i try the following troubleshooting with results;
Ping www.google.com -t
Unable to resolve
Ping 192.168.1.1 -t
Reply from...... working as expected
Log into router and run ping from diagnostics page, this fails with host unreachable
I called tech support last night, 1st agent told me to clear my cache in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I explained that this is unlikely to be a device issue as its happening to multiple devices. The agent just ignored that and hung up on me when I explained why that was wrong.
On call back, 2nd agent asked me take the master socket apart and use the test socket. I did this, but the problem still persisted whilst I was on the phone, she told me to keep an eye on it for a few days as this change of socket from master to test can cause intermittent drop outs at first. Well two days later, its still happening. I was starting to get the feeling I was been fobbed off!
I am a IT Systems Administrator who looks after Servers, Storage and Networking for a large business, whilst I dont know it all, I know enough to believe that this might be an issue either with my router or my internet conneciton between the router and phone line.
Any ideas?
