I have received two text messages purportedly from TalkTalk (maybe not really them...) apologising for an ALLEGED issue with my service:
The first (from what appears to be a mobile number 07786XXXXXX) saying: "We are sorry you have an issue with your service" received at 11:58 am today, 5 December 2016, quoting a ref. number of INC000014438446.
The second (from "TalkTalk" - no number just the word "TalkTalk" - received at 12:01pm today, 5 December 2016 - 3 minutes after the first) saying "we want you to know that we are working on resolving the issues you have raised with your service"
I'm uncertain whether this is 1) a scam - sadly not out of the realms possibility with TalkTalk's history - or, 2) some mix up - I have not reported any issue, as I don't have one from what I can see - the connection is stable, fast, can't fault it. The router has stayed connected for 10 days - when it got upgraded to the v1.21t firmware. Yes the number of detected intrusions seems to have increased, as others have stated on this very forum - but I've had no disconnects or anything like that (yet...)
The only issue I did have was about a month ago when the HG633 wasn't sent - but that's long been sorted.
EDIT: The TV and landline service seem fine also - no strange noises on the line and the Sky boosts work well - was watching a film on "Sky Christmas" earlier, no pixelating or jumps.
