Hi
Many of us will have heard about the recent hack, which Talk Talk say is only affecting DSL3780 routers.
I have an HG633 router.
At the weekend, I configured a new iPhone, setting up all its various passwords.
Yesterday, I received a warning from Google that someone had used the password with an attempt to log in, and that Google had blocked this. Whilst trying to investigate this on iPad, the iPad seemed to be fighting me, and I was unable to open new tabs in Safari (even after a hard restart), and Safari was running ultra-slow. I saw a tab flash up to do with resetting my Apple ID (perhaps from my history), and I suspect that someone was attempting remote control.
I only regain stability after restoring from backup, and naturally putting a fresh (very strong) password on to the Google login.
So, it appears to me that someone discovered the previous password and was able to access this iPad, despite being blocked from Google itself.
My question is, could the hack that we have heard about actually be extending to the HG633, and if so, what can I/we do about this?
