Fibre activation date been and gone

Fibre activation was supposed to be yesterday. Received an email saying the service was active yesterday. Yet I'm still stuck on normal broadband. Phoned customer service and I keep being told they're going to run tests and I need to phone back as my mobile won't work at my house. I'm sick of being put on hold so I'm seeking advice on here. My router shows connection type as ADSL. It's my understanding this should show VDSL for fibre?
