I have a curious, and really annoying issue, with my net connectivity going down at weekends.
Further explanation :
I have an HG633 router on fibre broadband.
For the last few weeks, I get at best, intermittent net access, on weekends. Rest of the week is fine, no issues at all, but come saturday, things go down at some point, and don't fully resolve until monday.
Even further explanation :
I have 2 main pc's, one connected through a VPN, the other not. When the net goes down, the pc with the VPN works just fine, the VPN stays connected, and I can browse sites just fine. The other pc, I can't browse. I can ping sites just fine, but browsing causes either timeout errors, or connection reset errors. Same with my laptop and phone, which also connect without a VPN, browsing is just a no-no.
Rebooting the router sometimes gets things working very briefly before going down again.
I have tried changing the dns servers on the router to opendns, which hasn't helped.
I don't have any of the homesafe filters active.
As I am sat here now, it's a sunday (christamas day) and I have had no access on the one pc since early yesterday morning, but the pc with the VPN is fine and allowing me to post this message.
So, any ideas, is my router nuked, or are there some settings I can play with to fix things, or is the problem deep in talktalks end?
