I have decided to come here as the hours on the TalkTalk support line proved fruitless. They cannot make that leap to a conclusion that it might jusy be a router hardware problem and not a peripheral or router setting problem.
No changes were made to induce this fault. Everything running normal like it has for the past 18 months on fibre, then suddently the 2.4 GHz band just disappeared. No devices can pick it up. In our house we use 3 android phones, one iphone5, 2 PC laptops and 3 desktop PCs. Its a remote location and we dont have neighbours in range so channel overlap is not an issue. We cant see anyones network from here and viceversa unless you happen to drive past our lane or sit outside our driveway.
Went through all the troubleshooting with the tech guys finally resulting in Factory Reset of the router. Sometimes if we are lucky after a factory reset, the 2.4 band will show briefly then it disappears never to be seen again. Reboots dont bring it back. Its the same across all devices.
Only further additional thing i can think of is a firmware reinstall but i cant see why this would neccessarily work.
LAN is fine with no problems. Same goes for the 5gig band.
Any suggestions??
