When I type in 'my location' into Google, it give me a map of a rough location of my home. How does it know that?. I know some web sites, often ask would you like xyz website to know your location, but I always deny this request.
How does Google have location info? (It is n't only Google, there are other web site, which can pinpoint your location).
I can only assume, my IP address is being linked to my location.
I don't understand why TalkTalk has given away my privacy.
In the past, my IP address, would point out I am in the UK, but now the location is within a 100metres of my neighbhoorhood. I value my privacy.
I know in the old days, it was possible to disconnect and reconnect to the internet and you would get a new IP address.
TalkTalk needs to give the option to give people non-geographic IP address.
