Hi Guys
My Fibre Go-Live Date was 18th Jan and everything went without a hitch. I installed the HG633 router prior to the go-live date, connection went smoothly before and after fibre was switched.
I have 4 issues with the first bullet point being my main issue:
- I’m experiencing the same issue as forum user Icarus1! Since Fibre has been live I have noticed intermittent connection loss (client based) but after investigation I’ve found the problem to be with uploads. If any information is sent Upstream all Downstream data stops dead. I find it most noticeable when my OneDrive is synchronising data/files to the cloud.
- After I boot up a device and first start using the internet through any web browser I get connection errors for a good few attempts and then it’s as if the router dials up and makes the connection. It’s definitely something at the router end because the problem was never there on my old router prior to fibre. This problem could be linked to the same above issue due to hand-shaking of the device and router/web apps as they connect for the first time. As they make their connection packets of data are sent, hence the reason for downstream data being blocked as in issue bullet point one above!
- My third issue is with my Upstream Speed, The router is displaying a measly 1999kbit/s (2meg). Speedtest.net also confirms this low speed! My father nearly has 10meg upstream on the same fibre package has me so it’s strange for mine to bet set so low!
- Wifi strength is bobbins compared to my old HG533 router. My Father reports the same issue!
I have been contemplating with the idea of reinstalling my old router to cure all the above issues!
Hope to hear from an OCE soon
Cheers Guys
